Civil and Environmental Engineering

Our standard of living depends on our civil infrastructure, a sophisticated system of buildings, bridges, dams, airports, transportation networks, water and power distribution systems, and environmental protection systems. Civil and environmental engineers are responsible for designing, maintaining, and enhancing our civil infrastructure. They help to sustain the living standards and quality of life of the population. Civil engineers are also master builders. They create structures that stand as timeless symbols of our civilization. Environmental engineers identify and design solutions for problems involving the environment. To do so, they have to be broadly educated and technically trained to address a wide spectrum of issues.

Construction Management Fundamentals
Construction Management Fundamentals consists of a two-day course providing construction professionals with the skills needed to understand and execute the broad array of technical and non-technical activities associated with construction management. Topics explored in this course prepare participants to become industrial leaders in the real estate/construction industry.

Building Information Modeling and Integrated Practice: An Emerging Relationship
BIM is taking the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry to a new dimension. This short course will explore how implementing BIM’s new technology is producing a cultural shift in the AEC industry toward a collaborative building approach, and how this relationship can lead to better project outcomes and maximize efficiency.

Design/Build for the AEC Professional
Design/Build for the Architecture/Engineering/Construction (AEC) Professional teaches the techniques needed to implement this integrated project delivery system within your organization. Design/Build combines the design, permit, and construction schedule in order to streamline the construction process so that design and construction professionals work together to simultaneously complete tasks – reducing the risk of going over budget and saving time throughout the course of a project and beyond.

Green Building and Sustainability Basics
